For years, my world was defined by the lines of a football pitch. As a professional goalkeeper, I, Kunal Ripinkumar Patel, understood the meaning of commitment and sacrifice. But it was an injury—a severe ACL tear—that revealed a profound truth about value.
Playing through that pain, I helped my team win a critical tournament. Yet, two days after the final, when I asked to be registered for a future competition, the answer was brutal: “We can’t run a lame horse.” That moment, reinforced by a coach’s cold comment about treating players like commodities, was my turning point.
I realized: utility is temporary, but self-worth and control are permanent. My value could not be dictated by a coach’s immediate need or a temporary injury. That day, my childhood dream of building my own business—one where I led and valued everyone—hardened into a non-negotiable mission
Preparation Meets Opportunity: The Triple Threat
This drive led me not just to the field, but to the classroom—earning degrees in Chemistry, Petrochemicals, and a Global MBA in Entrepreneurship in Berlin. I was not just building a product; I was building myself into a person of maximum capability to execute a lifelong ambition.
The business idea didn’t come from a market study; it came from a moment of truth at a snack shelf. I tasted a competitor’s chip and immediately saw the massive gap: high prices for low quality, often packed with palm oil and sugar. I saw an opportunity to bring an exclusive, highly-demanded product—the King of Bananas, the Nendran—to a new market in Gujarat, my home state.
My conviction was simple: Jagannath Wafers can make it better, healthier, and fairer.

The commitment was immediate and total. Leaving our lives in Germany, my wife and I flew to India to establish the company, leaning on the unwavering strength of my mother. My family didn’t just support the dream; they became the engine, with my mother handling critical operations on the ground, creating a powerful women-led, multi-generational partnership.
